Popping over the border to Italy for a concert.

Summer is a time of free festivals in Slovenia and Croatia and towns surrounding the Soca Valley no exception. Marie had told us Kobarid is 10 miles from the Italian border, and Cividale another 15 kms inside Italy . Cividale were presenting a music festival, so we went exploring. This was a youth orchestra playing Verdi music, featuring a soloist trombone player, a tenor and a soprano singer. The evening warm, sitting in a Plaza enjoying excellent music and the atmosphere within the Medieval part of town relaxing. So why not pop over the border for a concert? Julius Caesar apparently created the town and is found from his statue base gazing out in one of the plazas, along with Adelaide Ristori the actor in another. Also found in each plaza a gelato ice cream seller and many pizzaries. I'm in cultural and food heaven.
