Today we were out bright and early walking in Plitvice Park again. Although we began walking at 8:30am already there was a stream of people entering the park. At lunch time as I write this the stream of people has developed into more of a torrent. Huge groups are descending down the paths towards the waters edge.
We opted to take the boat ride to the top of the lake, and head towards the other entry gate via a number of smaller lakes and waterfalls, to see the largest waterfall in the park. Slap is the Croatian word for waterfall. This slap was over 30 m, cascading over a cliff face. We then back tracked slightly and decided to walk around the largest base lake and head towards the park gate and our entry point. Again the lakes were turquoise, crystal clear with the bush line right down to the lake edge. The reflections were so clear and so colourful. After a small breather we are heading back down to the big lake for a small stroll. Plitvice Lakes is an awesome place, clean green, and so relaxing to be here, wandering around lakes, passing waterfalls and over streams.
