For the last while my Grade 8 & 9's have been learning with spreadsheets. We started by calculating totals, averages and percentages of colours of Smarties in boxes etc. The girls then took that learning another step forward and created a business plan to sell goods. Each group created a company, business card and all. The company had to design varying boxes to be filled with Smatires and sold on the open market with at least a 33% profit
Every morning tea break one of the classes has been selling. Today was Grade 9.1. One group took 258 AED which is a huge profit. Some groups absolutely took no prisoners and were fierce and very competitive. Boys beware, commercialism and entrepreneurship is very much alive and well at Al Ref'ah.

Way to go Jocelyn! I love it. I bet those kids are pleased with their endeavours.
Current exchange rate makes that NZ$98. Not bad at all.
Actually Jocelyn you should expect a Motivators Cut. Say 25% of the profit? And if you were able to invite those from other schools to take part, then the profits would be huge.
Waddaya reckon Marg? The path to Heaven is paved with Pebbles.
