Wow things happen really quickly around here. As you can see the progress on the apartment in the front is marching on at an alarming pace. Tonight the constructors were laying reinforcing steel to pour the second story to this building. Tonight there must have been 8 construction workers placing the rods. Last night the men worked well after 6:00 pm on the building site. The surface area was lit up from the light of huge halogen lights. This morning when I left for work at 6:15 am they were up on the second floor in the dim morning light hammering away
For the last month another team have been working on the road way between the front of my apartment block and the front of the new apartment block being built. Lately they have been leveling off and compacting the road surface. Tonight suddenly there appeared a few rails, some large stones and a few metal rods. With-in an hour they had measured out the and placed the rails as boxing, held in place by the large stones and a few random rods. There wasn't even a trench dug in the surface. Don't get ANY ideas Ian! Suddenly a concrete truck rocks up and the boxing is filled in with concrete, and smoothed off. You may be able to see a few bends and curves in the boxing, but it’s done and in record time. My guess is they will lay asphalt between the concrete and hey presto we have the resemblance of a road.
I am surprised at the speed with which all this construction is taking place, and the efficiency of the work force. While the road edging looks a little rudimentary I have seen these things before and the end result is very professional and very serviceable. Watch this space.

Impressive progress! Shows how quickly things can get done without all those pesky Health and Safety Rules! Progress without Anarchy.
Not quite sure of the purpose of the concrete strip on the road.
Keep the drivers on the right safe from the drivers on the left?
Safety ridge to protect pedestrians trying to cross the road?
Seeding the road with concrete which they hope will multiply like yoghurt till it fills in the whole road?
And they probably get paid a pittance for all the work they do. Have you found out how much they do get?
The chaps in the bottom pic look happy to have their photo taken. They probably don't have too many blonde westerners taking an interest in what they are doing. :)
