Building the Eiffel Tower

In Year 2 ICT we are making a guess what / guess where I live / guess what the famous building in my country is. This unit is all based around buildings and structures which is the Year 2 current topic. My students are busy drawing a famous building from their country. I was totally in awe of Julie’s Eiffel Tower. You did guess it was the Eiffel Tower?

She is painstakingly putting in the “lacing” into the minor structures between each of the 4 towers. When people have made suggestions about how she could draw her tower with out the lacing she was quite adamant. NO. One of my teaching assistants made a comment about the legs of each of the towers and how she could possibly complete these quickly. This was met with  a distinctive  ” NO, it’s not correct, they have patterns on them”. Julie is one very focused student, determined to get her Eiffel tower looking as close as possible to the real thing. Go girl !!!
