Ever wondered how Arabic children peel Kiwfruit?
Answer: With difficulty
Healthy Breakfast
Today the Grade 4, 5 and 6 girls made healthy breakfast in their PE and life skills class. They began by making salads accompanied with beautiful rye type bread that a parent had donated. I arrived when they were at the fruit stage. The students were required to make healthy faces on the plates from the fruit, before of course consuming it all.
In the Al Hayer community the people / students get up and have a “snack” light meal first thing in the morning. This is usually a drink of camel milk, possibly some dates and something light. The first break at school is called breakfast and is approximately half an hour at around 10:30 am. This is the time most people eat a reasonably substantial amount of food, sandwiches and the such. Lunch is then at home at the end of the school day for those students not in secondary. The secondary girls students can purchase more food from the cafeteria, mostly hot food, sharwarmas, and pizza

I think they will have enjoyed doing this. It must have been a wonderful sight to see.
I just can't help comparing your breakfast experience with my breakfast experience a few weeks ago in one of our Yr 2 classroom. (Worldwide healthy eating lessons.) If you get the chance check out Abby's class blog at http://riverlandsroom5.blogspot.com/
