I designed this bridge building / technology assessment unit for Grade 12 which has turned out to be fantastic. The unit is really involving the girls in designing and building bridges, and thinking about structures. Over the course of the last 2 weeks the girls have built bridges that should be robust enough to withstand a 300 gram weight towed over the structure. If you think this sounds like an adapted BP Challenge you would be right. We’ve had so much fun, and today the noise was quite high as they raced to complee their bridge in 20 minutes. The before and after bridges were noticeably different. Some good learning and application happening in the later lessons. I’m afraid the girls OD’d on cellotape, but all for a good cause!

Would be great to seehow they handled it if they came back for another go. The girls looked to be very engaged.
How wonderful to see how enthused they are. I bet they loved that challenge and are looking forward to more of them.
