The humble Kiwi Fruit

I am still staying in the hotel as the company organise apartments for people to move into. Word was out that the singles are in a place called Twarm, while the families are right across the other side of town. Twarm has a swimming pool which is a bonus, but it is situated on the Abu Dhabi side of the city. My schools are 45 k out of town on the other side of the city, on the road to Dubai.
This morning at breakfast was a huge fruit bowl and peeping out between the oranges and mango was a pair of humble Kiwi fruit, nestled along side some strawberries. Alas by the time I had taken this photo the other Kiwifruit had maliciously hopped into my cereal. No doubt a "welcome fellow Kiwi" or "you too look a bit furry around the edges" greeting. One of the teachers from my school tells me that you get a huge array of seasonal fruit and imported fruit. It's date season at the moment and they are very cheap. You have the manufactured dates similar to the ones we get at home, although not as dry, and fresh dates in bunches that look like grapes. You peel away the husk and eat the date. Did you know they have white, yellow and red dates as well?
