Learning together
Day 2 of our new school year and the students are back and into it. Today I introduced Year 1 to storyboarding, planing the drawings they will be creating on the computer. Also slipped in the lesson seamlessly was the modelling and the articulation that we have hands and fingers on the end of our arms. Our arms have a top and a bottom. The underlying message, stick figures are not acceptable. Year 1 are new students to our primary campus, so storyboarding is new to them as well. However they picked up the challenge and planned their pictures. I love the pic of Tue my teacher assistant and Dang Nguyen a new student to our school having a conversation. Dang is explaining his name and Tue is showing him where he can write it. A lovely snapshot of a learning conversation. Note how the Vietnamese sit back on their heels. Definitely something I can't manage/ haven't learnt to do.
