New Zealand is getting quite a lot of press over in the UAE at the moment. First we had Emirates Team NZ sailing out of Dubai and currently we have the adventure challenge happening. This is how our paper covered the days challenge
Today the competitors were out in Al Ain where I live and they did their bit up and down Jebel Hafeet Jebal means mountain, however here the mountains are really what we would refer to as hills. You can drive almost to the top of Jebel Hafeet winding around the corners like winding up the Takaka Hill or the Rimutakas. The views of the city and the surrounding area are magnificent and well worth the trouble to get there. Families in UAE do picnic at night, therefore Jebel Hafeet comes alive at night with families, sight seers, boy racers and so forth, and today, Adventure Challenge.

Great to see Nelson's Nathan Faa'ave in the leading team. Just wait until the kayaking leg! He's a force to be reckoned with.
