Working in a school with very strong British links, many of the British customs pageants and culture are transposed and replicated here in Vietnam. All the early years students, the kindergarten aged sweethearts, are having an Easter Bonnet parade tomorrow. Over the holidays one of the suggested activities that parents could do with children was create an Easter bonnet. A few of the wee ones arrived at school today with their “bonnets” in preparation for the event including Kaila whose Mum teaches in Year 2. The early years students wear the red tshirts as their uniform. The tshirt inscription says fundinos which I believe is a play on the words of ‘foundation’. Kaila created her Easter crown from bits and pieces her Nan from Ireland sent her, along with Easter eggs of course!
