Nicki and Cailtin arrive

Nicki and Caitlin arrived in Ho Chi Minh City for their sojourn into Sth East Asia on Tuesday night. Late Wednesday afternoon I had parent interviews at An Phu the main campus. The ladies accompanied me over there to experience a slower more expat part of the city. The traffic is less and travels at a slower speed to the heart of the city. People ride pushbikes After interviews, in the fading light, we dined at Restaurant 13, a little authentic Vietnamese restaurant on the banks of part of the Saigon River. Restaurant 13 is rather a nice place to go and unwind and just soak up the atmosphere of being in but on the outskirts of the city. Across the water you can see a few high-rises, although there are not many in HCMC, and mostly in An Phu and the new developments. Tugs travel up and down the river towing large barges of soil, or container vessels get a tow out to the larger water ways. Fish jump up and down out of the water. The silence is nice. The menu is extensive and the food typically Vietnamese. Noodles and morning glory, grilled catfish, pho and of course Tiger beer.
