You guessed it..... Someone in our team suggested we all wear something green to school and bring along some green food to have a shared meal at breakfast. Does that sound like anyone you know? The first break at school is called breakfast. This break is half an hour long and is when the students and the teachers have a relatively big meal. Remember that most will have got up at around 5:00 am to pray and had a smallish meal then. The first-light call to prayer is about 5:08 am at the moment.
We have 2 Irish girls in our team so it was also a good opportunity for them to enjoy their culture. Naimh, not pictured here, actually gave us a demonstration of Irish dancing.
I made traditional asparagus rolls. Other food included mini pizas with olives, peppers etc as the topping, sausage rolls sprinkled with zetar, stuffed vine leaves, green fruit, Krispy Cremes, in a green box with green sprinklies ( must be Irish in there somewhere) cucumbe,r snow peas, sweets amd an interesting array of green drinks from apple juice, to smoothies to green tea.
