Camera PD

From my budget I bought each of my ICT teacher's a digital camera to record instances of learning and for the students to use the camera to snap pictures to support their learning.And of course they need to use the camera at home to get be confident using it. As part of the deal we have been focusing on professional development around the camera, and incorporating jigsaw learning as a teaching strategy. Each of us is responsible for becoming an "expert" on one of the function buttons on the camera. So here we are, Enas explaining how you can change the language of the camera from English to Arabic. The girls prefer to keep the language in English. Arabic is written from the right to the left, EXCEPT on the camera which is L to R, so this makes it all too difficult to read. I'm wearing my abya as I'm off to the boy's school this afternoon. Salama is Emirati, Enas is Syrian which is why she has a coloured headscarf and Salama a shaila. It's cold this morning, temperature is down to 18 in the mornings. Assembly got canceled as it's too cold. All the teachers are wearing jackets, cardigans and shawls, and we are quietly looking forward to February when temperatures begin to rise again..... until its may and we complain about the heat.
