A Kiwi teaching international students to sing in Maori.

On Friday to celebrate Uyen's birthday I taught a couple of classes how to sing happy birthday in Maori. I taught the children the words, all 4 of them. I began to sing and asked the class to sing along. One of the wee sweethearts recognised the tune and said " that's the happy birthday song". We sang the whole song especially for Uyen, who of course was delighted. Its not every day a group of people who speak a multitude of language fluently gather to sing happy birthday in a complete new language.

Charming. Like the little boys sneaking looks at Nuyen to see if she was enjoying it as much as they were.
