Dodo Bird. Alice in Wonderland.

I have blogged on numerous occasions about our school productions. Currently it is Year 5 and 6 at my TX Campus rehearsing and producing Alice the musical. Alice in Wonderland. As all the children in both year groups about 70 in total have a part, if not two, they on and off stage frequently. The production is put together in about 10 days. Loads of the pressure is on the 4 teachers. I've been helping out by creating some costumes. My latest, a Dodo bird. While he does look spectacular with his red and orange plumage, my fingers also look spectacular, covered in blisters. To stick countless feathers onto a brown suit one used a glue gun. Praise be to the person who invented the hot glue gun, easy as. A squirt of glue and a feather down, then a little pressure on the feather to ensure its stuck down. As you can imagine there is not alot of space between a feather, hot glue and a finger. These mechanisms are called hot glue guns for a  reason.

Tue, my TA worked brilliantly all Tuesday morning to create the head piece. The two of us sharing the glue gun. Mr Tue has obviously had more practice in the gluing department. While I uttered a few ouchs and bothers, he very quietly went about his business, smiling. Blistered fingers and all my Dodo looks spectacular, leaving a small trail of orange feathers, all the way to the production.
