Flowers galore

In Da Lat up in the hills about 3 to 5 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City, they grow all the vegetables and the most gorgeous flowers. Last night one of the players who is leaving our Mahjong group came armed with bouquets of roses for everyone. 15 beautiful creamy yellow roses just beginning to open up, presented so nicely. In An Phu District where the school is, there are literally zillions of flower shops and of course every market has a huge flower stall. Now comes the OMG moment. Each of these blooms cost around 5,000 VND, thats 25 cents NZ . Another OMG moment are the orchids that they also grow here in this very humid climate. They too are just gorgeous. The down side to my floral tribute is that the heat in my apartment will cause the blloms to develop so quickly and eventually the flowers to die. However in the meantime......I shall savour the moment and enjoy.

What a lovely gesture. Enjoy them while they last.
