A warm wind blowing

Today we are experiencing one of those hot nor wester days that you get NZ, although here the wind hasn't got up to the same velocity it does in NZ. However with the wind comes the sand. The sand here is a very fine powder. The atmosphere is a smokey grey as the sand swirls in mini willy walls and circular patterns. The tempertaures are getting warmer, mid 30's, although not uncomfortably hot. Everyone has their windows open enjoying the sun and the warmth. Soon we will close them down to keep the heat out. So along with the warmth comes the sand, wafting inside. My whole house is covered with this fine power. I put a drink on the coffee table and a while later when I removed it there was that powdery ring indicating where the drink had once stood. You can see my footprints as I have walked backwards and forwards to the different rooms, and the sandy grit on my desk from today is thick enoogh for me to clearly write my name. There is always a plus. No point in doing the house work just yet and the washing takes such a short time to dry.
