Storyboarding princess's

We are using storyboard in ICT with the junior classes to plan our self portraits. The Korean girls all  have a distinct way of drawing to make themselves look like little princess's. Aged 7 going on 17. The pictures  are all very formulaic, the hair covering one eye, the eye with long eyelashes long flowing wispy hair, heart shaped lips and sometimes with a tiny crown on their heads. I had a bit of a clamp down this morning suggesting we storyboard our selves as we are not as we wish to be. Now of course I have no examples of princess's to post. Perhaps next class.
I wonder if Koreans are obsessed with body image? Does this princess image come from a body shape image splashed around the country media magazines etc, or are these really little girls just drawing stylised pictures. The pictures all look very mature and the students are quite practiced at drawing them.... and of course some western girls copy the image. If there is in fact branding of body image then the campaign has been very successful. The down side will be replicating the princess image in Kid Pix. Next week will be interesting.
