I've spent time in Waimea working with some wee sweethearts, focusing on the elements of good digital photographry. And when I say wee sweethearts, they were only 6. We began really early in the morning, it was cold and grey so the children took their first set of photos inside the room, focusing on their teachers. I was amazed at the quality of their photograghs, especially on their first attempt. After we analysed the photos, what could we do better etc, they took another set, out side this time. I thought these were excellent as well.
Thanks to my colleague Fiona who has pointed us in the direction of a photography competition. Nothing like being a 21st Century student and getting it out there in the global world.
